‘Tangerine’
Film Independent has announced the nominees for the 31st Independent Spirit Awards, with Todd Haynes‘ Carol picking up the most noms with six. Beasts of No Nation and Spotlight tied for second with five nominations each, and Anomalisa and Tangerine had four including Best Feature.
I’d like to give a special shout out to Tangerine, one of my favorite films released this year, so if you haven’t checked it out yet, now’s the time. I also want to give a special mention to Heaven Knows What for being nominated for the John Cassavettes Award, another one of my personal favorites of 2015. Overall, just giving this list a once over and having not yet seen everything nominated, I’m very pleased with this year’s list.
The Independent Spirt Awards will take place February 27th at 2:00pm PT / 5:00pm ET.
