The first teaser trailer for the upcoming horror film The Gallows has been released, which could prove to be yet another slam dunk for Blumhouse Productions, who have been dominating the indie horror market producing such hits as Insidious, Paranormal Activity, and The Purge. Directed by Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff, the film is about a group of kids who revive an old play put on by their high school years ago where a tragic accident took the life of its lead. Now, the teens have awakened something evil and are threatened with the same fate.
Warner Bros. is releasing The Gallows in theaters July 10th.
Twenty years after an accident caused the death of the lead actor during a high school play, students at the same small town school resurrect the failed stage production in a misguided attempt to honor the anniversary of the tragedy—but ultimately find out that some things are better left alone.
