Although I did grow up during the rise in popularity of the Fox TV show Power Rangers, I was never really on board with the goofiness of it all, however if it was like Adi Shankar‘s latest bootleg short film, I think I’d be a huge fan. Power/Rangers is directed by Joseph kahn (Torque, Detention) and stars James Van Der Beek as the former red ranger interrogating the pink ranger (Katee Sackhoff) after their friends start getting brutally murdered one by one. It’s an extremely dark, gritty version of the Power Rangers ethos, and I would love to see this be how the upcoming film plays out- of course, it won’t though.
Producer Shankar previously created several other bootlegs including the popular Dirty Laundry short film with the Punisher, and Truth in Journalism with Venom.
