Although I have an avid distaste for musicals, my Damien Chazelle (Whiplash) fandom overrides it, making his next film, La La Land, one that I simply must see. The film harkens back to classic Hollywood romance movies, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as an aspiring actress and jazz musician who fall in love. The film also stars John Legend, Rosemarie DeWitt, Finn Wittrock, Callie Hernandez, Sonoya Mizuno, Jessica Rothe, Tom Everett Scott, and Josh Pence.
La La Land is set to open in theaters December 16th.
