“Alex & Eve” is based on the hit Australian play of the same name by Alex Lykos(who also scripted the film). It’s the story of Alex ( Richard Brantisano ), a handsome, shy Greek Orthodox man in his mid-thirties whose parents want him to marry a good Greek girl. However, Alex has fallen in love with Eve ( Andrea Demetriodes ), a confident Lebanese Muslim woman he met by chance on evening out on the town. The problem is that Eve’s parents have arranged for her to marry a traditional Lebanese Muslim man. Like oil and water, the two should never mix. Torn between different religions and traditional versus modern values Alex and Eve must do everything under the heavens to stop themselves from falling in love. Destiney takes its course in this modern day Romeo Juliet as love conquers all.
