Jude Law will play a young Dumbledore in the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Variety broke the news this morning.
Law will portray a younger version of one of the most iconic characters in J.K. Rowling’s Potterverse while he’s still a professor at Hogwarts and not Headmaster. Presumably, he will be part of the opposition to dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp).
Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston are returning for the sequel, as is director David Yates. Fantastic Beasts 2 is slated for release on November 18th, 2018.
