Late this afternoon it was announced that Mike Epps is officially on board to play comic legend Richard Pryor in an upcoming biopic directed by Lee Daniels (Precious, The Butler).
It was also reported that Oprah Winfrey has been cast as Pryor’s abusive grandmother, Marie Carter.
Epps beat out a number of talented actors up for the role including Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Marlon Wayans, and Michael B. Jordan.
