Three new stills have been released for Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott’s upcoming thriller Bushwick, which is set to have its world premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival as part of their midnight lineup in January. The film stars Brittany Snow as a young woman emerging from the subway in her Brooklyn neighborhood only to discover it’s become a war zone after a new civil war breaks out when Texas secedes from the union. The film also stars Dave Bautista, Angelic Zambrana, Jeremie Harris, Myra Lucretia Taylor, and Arturo Castro.

I’m definitely getting a Red Dawn vibe from this one only instead of Russians invading it’s Texans, which somehow feels more scary- I kid of course. There’s also a fantastic comic book series called DMZ that explores the same idea. Having friends that live in Bushwick I actually can’t wait to see what the neighborhood looks like as a war zone so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.

Lucy emerges from a Brooklyn subway to find that her neighborhood is under attack by black-clad military soldiers. An ex-Marine corpsman, Stupe, reluctantly helps her fight for survival through a civil war, as Texas attempts to secede from the United States of America.
