There never seems to be a shortage of killer shark movies, and as The Shallows proved last year the demand is still there. So, of course, this summer we’re getting another shark attack in 47 Meters Down.
The newly released trailer for the film shows some nice tweaking of the genre. While shark-watching on vacation, two sisters (Mandy Moore and Claire Holt) become trapped in a shark cage at the bottom of the ocean…47 meters down. It’s sort of like an under-the-surface Open Water.
Directed by Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door) and also starring Matthew Modine, 47 Meters Down arrives in theaters on June 16th.
Two sisters, vacationing in Mexico, are trapped in a shark cage at the bottom of the ocean, with less than an hour of oxygen left and great white sharks circling nearby.
