AMC theaters cut a deal to release the festival hit Detention exclusively in it’s theaters on April 13, before spreading to other cities across the country. The film has been a big hit on the festival circuit, traveling to nearly all of them over the last two years, and getting (mostly) positive feedback. Detention is directed by Joseph Kahn (Torque) who describes the film as “a time traveling horror comedy about bears, serial killers, the 90’s, and ufo’s.”
