Annapurna Pictures has released a new trailer for Jacques Audiard‘s upcoming Western The Sisters Brothers starring Joaquin Phoenix and John C. Reilly as brothers hired to kill a prospector (Riz Ahmed) who has developed an incredible new way of finding gold in the streams of Oregon. The film, which looks to be a bit of a genre mash-up, containing plenty of action and comedy, also stars Jake Gyllenhaal.
The Sisters Brothers opens in theaters this fall, however there is no exact date as of yet.
Based on Patrick Dewitt’s acclaimed novel of the same name, follows two brothers – Eli and Charlie Sisters – who are hired to kill a prospector who has stolen from their boss. The story, a genre-hybrid with comedic elements, takes place in Oregon in 1851. The film is Jacques Audiard’s follow-up to his Palme D’Or Winning DHEEPAN, which premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
