Joe Carnahan to Direct Frank Grillo in Remake of THE RAID

A remake of Indonesian action film The Raid: Redemption had been in the works since before the film arrived in U.S. theaters nearly five years ago. Now, it appears the project is finally coming to fruition, and at least there are some cool people involved.

Joe Carnahan (The Grey, Narc, Smokin’ Aces) is set to direct and Purge series vet Frank Grillo will star. XYZ Films tweeted out the news, while Carnahan added the film won’t be a straight remake but a “reimagining of the same scenario” and that it will match the tone of The Grey and Narc.
