Back in 2005, Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna helped launch Ambulante, a yearly film festival that tours Mexico bringing people new and thought provoking documentaries.  Now, Luna and Bernal are gearing up to bring this festival to the U.S. starting with California, and if all goes well, eventually expanding to more states throughout the country.

Of course, setting up an ambitious project like this needs support, and what better way than Kickstarter to find the funding needed to make this happen.  This campaign currently has 25 days to go with a goal of $52,780 so make sure you click here to donate today.

For two weeks, from September 21 to October 4, Ambulante will embark on its first major U.S. tour throughout the Greater Los Angeles area to create unique exhibition spaces and program free documentary cinema happenings.

Our mission is simple: Democratize documentary culture. Since 2005, our non profit has annually organized an epic three-month tour across Mexico presenting remarkable international documentary cinema in areas with limited access to film. Thanks to a grant from the Ford Foundation, our efforts of adapting the successful model in the United States are underway!
