This week’s Kickstart Sunday pick comes to us from the UnionDocs Center for Documentary Art in New York City and the upcoming documentary project Living Los Sures. More than just a restoration of the original 1984 documentary Los Sures, this multi-layered project combines short films, interviews, and an interactive web site to explore the content of the film then, along with what’s happening in the neighborhood now.

This seems like an extremely ambitious and interesting project, so be sure to click here and show your support today. This Kickstarter campaign currently has 21 days remaining with a goal of $22,000, take a look below for more information.

UnionDocs is a nonprofit center for documentary located in the Southside. We’ve been working on Living Los Sures for 5 years, and we are seeking your help now to bring all the pieces together in a final, fabulous year. This is a groundbreaking and massive project. It has the potential to change the way that part of the history of New York City has been written and shift perceptions of the future of this place.

Our goals are to finish the production, let as many people know about the project as possible, and create a package that makes this an incredible tool for education. To date, the project has been acknowledged by the New York Film Festival, the Brooklyn Museum, the National Endowment for the Arts and POV, American Documentary. Your tax-deductible donation will help us realize the potential many have seen in this project.
