Kickstart Sunday – ‘The Search For Weng Weng’

Every week on Film Pulse, we highlight a crowd-funded project that we think you’ll really like, and deserves some support. Not only do we implore you to contribute to these projects, but we will contribute as well. Kick your Sunday off right by helping support independent film. If you help fund any of the projects we list, send us an e-mail at feedback@filmpulse.net, and we’ll make sure to thank you on the podcast.

This week we’re highlighting The Search For Weng Weng directed by Andrew Leavold. I remember when I first saw the incredibly odd film For Your Height Only and had so many questions about its short statured protagonist Weng Weng. This documentary aims to answer those questions but investigating the life and times of the 2′ 9″ Filipino James Bond. Hit the jump for more and be sure to click here to donate to this project.

“The Search For Weng Weng” is the unbelievable true story of the real-life 2’9″ Filipino James Bond and the latest Feature Documentary from Australian Guerrilla Film maker Andrew Leavold. Shot over 6 years in Manila, it’s the ultimate history of Philipino B-Films and chronicles Leavold’s obsessive quest to find the truth behind what really happened Weng Weng. We already have over 100 hours of footage, a distributor in place and are looking to raise funds to complete post production for an international release.
