‘Lawless’ Trailer

The trailer for John Hillcoat’s Lawless, which at one point was titled The Wettest County in the World, is finally here. The In Competition film at the upcoming 65th Cannes Film Festival is adapted from the Matt Bondurant novel; Hillcoat’s Lawless tells the true story of the Bondurant boys (played by Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf and Jason Clarke) and their moonshine bootlegging days in the Prohibition era. The cast also includes Gary Oldham, Guy Pierce and Jessica Chastain. Lawless is set to open August 31st.

    I was really excited to see this movie when I heard about it, but then this trailer…gah oh god, it looks so bad.  I’m a big fan of Tom Hardy (I mean, come on, Bronson and Inception, who isn’t) but he doesn’t look like he’s used to his potential.  I prefer to wait until The Dark Knight Rises to get my Hardy fix haha.  Also, those “after effects” with certain characters…come on!
