There’s been many attempts to adapt the Eisner Award winning comic book series Locke & Key to the screen in one form or another for the last few years however thus far it hasn’t really worked out. Dimension picked it up in 2008, then Dreamworks grabbed it in 2010, then a pilot was made for a Fox TV series that they passed on, and now Universal decided to get in the game.

There were early talks of making it a trilogy, which fits the comic well, considering the structure of the series, with each arc being a different key found in a creepy mansion.

The story revolves around three siblings and their mother moving back into an old family home only to find that there are many secrets held within its walls.  I was fortunate enough to discover this during its first series and have been reading it ever since.  Here’s hoping that Universal doesn’t muck it up and gets a strong director and cast for this one.
