Netflix is releasing the classic documentary series The Staircase along with three brand new episodes diving deeper into this intriguing true crime story. They posted up a new trailer for the series today, ahead of its June 8th release.
The 13-episode series is directed by Jean-Xavier de Lestrade and chronicles the story of a crime novelist accused of killing his wife by throwing her down the staircase in their home.
The Staircase is the compelling story of Michael Peterson, a crime novelist accused of killing his wife Kathleen after she is found dead at the bottom of a staircase in their home, and the 16 year judicial battle that followed.
