Sundance 2015: Open Road Acquires Rick Famuyiwa’s DOPE in Biggest Sale So Far

Rick Famuyiwa‘s (The Wood, Brown SugarDope has been acquired out of the Sundance Film Festival by Open Road Films for a reported $7 million plus $15 million to be spent on P&A costs, making it the biggest sale of the festival so far. The film garnered critical praise after its premiere, along with a substantial amount of buzz on social media.

Malcolm is a high school geek with a high-top fade, carefully navigating life in The Bottoms, one of the toughest neighborhoods in Inglewood, California.
