The Weinstein co. is at battle once again with the MPAA over their decision to make the upcoming film Philomena, starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan, rated R for language. According to Harvey Weinstein in an interview with CBS This Morning, the film contains two uses of the F word, which is one too many to garner a PG-13 rating. The film is currently being appealed and will most likely be awarded its rating simply because despite two swear words, its a film that will appeal to the entire family.
Weinstein previously fought the MPAA over ratings, getting The King’s Speech and Bully both knocked down to PG-13s. For more information, hit the break to check out the clip from CBS as well as a teaser for an upcoming Funny or Die video featuring Dench as M.
