Kickstart Sunday: TWO PLAINS & A FANCY

This week’s Kickstart Sunday pick is the latest from directors Lev Kalman and Whitney Horn, titled 2 Plains & A Fancy. Being a fan of their last film, L For Leisure, I’m very pumped to check this one out, which takes place in 1893 and revolves around a group of tourists wandering the Colorado desert looking for some hot springs.

A satirical, experimental comedy set in 1893 follows a group of tourists searching for the most perfect hot springs in Colorado, and finding only ruins. Sublime desert landscapes, hapless intellectual conversations, and elaborate sensual bathing rituals clash in this subversive, joyfully anachronistic “Spa Western.”
