Kickstart Sunday – ‘Who Took Johnny’

Every week on Film Pulse, we highlight a Kickstarter project that we think you’ll really like, and deserves some support. Not only do we implore you to contribute to these projects, but we will contribute as well. Kick your Sunday off right by helping support independent film. If you help fund any of the projects we list, send us an e-mail at feedback@filmpulse.net, and we’ll make sure to thank you on the podcast.

This week we’re highlighting Who Took Johnny from Rumur. This documentary explores the disappearance of John Gosch, who was the first missing child to be displayed on milk cartons.  This doc looks incredibly compelling and deserves your support!  Please click here to visit their donation page and make your pledge.  Read on for more info.

“The Police say they have no crime. I have no son.” – Noreen Gosch

If you’ve ever gotten separated from your child for just a few moments and remember the depth of panic that sets in, then you can begin to understand what Noreen Gosch has felt over the last 30 years since her son Johnny disappeared delivering newspapers in West Des Moines, Iowa on the morning of September 5, 1982.

More than any other missing child case, Johnny’s story has spawned countless theories and has instilled intrigue in the millions who remember the kid on the side of a milk carton.

WHO TOOK JOHNNY is a feature documentary that examines the infamous case by focusing on Noreen’s epic quest to figure out the truth behind her son’s disappearance. She has dedicated her life to finding the answer to what happened that morning. Along the way, there have been mysterious sightings, strange clues, bizarre revelations, and an emotional confrontation with a person who claims to have helped abduct Johnny.   Mixing new interviews with archival footage, home video and film material, we’ll see three decades of the case unfold. The viewer will explore the same clues and information that Noreen and law enforcement have seen. The answers to what happened are in the material. The idea is collectively to solve this mystery.
