A new trailer has been released for Bloody Marie, a new thriller from director Guido van Driel (The Resurrection of a Bastard). The film, which will be premiering at this year’s Rotterdam International Film Festival involves a graphic novelist who lives in Amsterdam’s Red Light District, uninspired with life until a violent event involving her neighbors cause her to spring into action.
Bloody Marie will be screening as part of the Voices (Limelight) program at this year’s festival.
Marie Wankelmut, once successful comic artist, lives among the prostitutes in Amsterdam’s Red Light District. Nowadays drunken and bold, she gets into one conflict after another. A gruesome sobering event at her neighbors, forces her to take action.
