In this moving documentary made possible by a grant awarded by Spike Lee, filmmaker Jon Matthews goes back to his hometown to tell the story of his family members, who are living in a trailer park known for its guns and drugs, as they attempt to put their lives back together in time for their daughter to make a run for Little Miss West Virginia. While exploring explores issues of poverty, drug addiction, and life in rural America, SURVIVING CLIFFSIDE presents an emotional and often inspirational story of a family working together to overcome enormous obstacles.
