‘300’ Prequel Gets an Official Title

Warner Bros. announced that it has an official title for the upcoming 300 prequel, formerly titled 300: The Battle of Artemisia. The new title, is, wait for it, 300: Rise Of An Empire. Generic title aside, there are a few other red flags that get raised when looking at this film.  Noam Murro is in the director’s chair in place of Zack Snyder, which is a questionable choice, considering Murro has only previously directed the 2008 letdown Smart People.

Furthermore, the film’s writer is Kurt Johnstad, who previously scripted the mess that was Act of Valor, and to top it all off, nearly none of the major players from the first film are coming back for this one.  Either way, we will find out when the film comes out August 2nd, 2013.
