‘300: Rise of an Empire’ Trailer

Today, Warner Bros. released the first trailer for 300: Rise of an Empire, the upcoming sequel to Zack Snyder‘s smash hit 300.  It looks like if you were a fan of the over the top stylized violence of the first, you’re going to be pleased with this one as well.

Though Snyder has not returned to direct, he is producing, which probably just means he lent his name for the credits.  Though I’m still extremely apprehensive about this one, the trailer makes it look like it could be pretty fun, what do you think? Check the trailer and synopsis after the break.

300: Rise of an Empire is set to hit theaters March 7th, 2014.

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

“300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
