Adam Wingard’s ‘You’re Next’ Gets an August 2013 Release Date

Adam Wingard‘s horror film You’re Next was a big hit on the festival circuit last year, and after a heated bidding war, Lionsgate picked the film up for distribution.  Unfortunately, things died down for the film, as it was shelved for some apparent reason, despite critical praise.  All is not lost however, as it was announced today that the film will see the light of day on August 23, 2013. Since making You’re Next, Wingard has gone on to direct segments in the upcoming ABCs of Death, as well as V/H/S, which is currently available on VOD.

Described as a family being terrorized by a group of masked men while staying in a remote house for a reunion, You’re Next sounds like a typical home invasion flick, however critics describe it as being something that could elevate the genre to a new level.

Wingard has also commented on the possibility of a sequel in the works, so here’s hopinh the film does well in August.
