Alamo Drafthouse Announces RAMBO Marathon

The Alamo Drafthouse has announced plans on holding a Rambo marathon in celebration of the upcoming Rambo: Last Blood hitting theaters September 20th.

Taking place at 23 Drafthouse locations across the country, fans will be able to enjoy watching the first four Rambo films back to back before diving into Last Blood to cap off the marathon. Take a look below for the full release regarding the marathon, including participating theaters, and head over to drafthouse.com for more.

Austin, TX — September 4, 2019 — Austin-based cinema-eatery Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is celebrating one of America’s greatest cultural icons and cinema’s greatest action franchises with an explosive RAMBO five-film marathon event at twenty-three locations across the country. Audiences will go from first to last blood, beginning with 1982’s FIRST BLOOD, then continuing with RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD PART II (1985), RAMBO III (1988), RAMBO (2008), and then concluding with the new Lionsgate/Millennium Media blockbuster finale, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD.

“This marathon is for the ultimate Rambo fan,” says Alamo Drafthouse Programmer Cristina Cacioppo. “And there’ll be so much to see – the thoughtful drama of FIRST BLOOD, the action spectacle of the middle installments, and finally, how it comes to an end in LAST BLOOD.”

Opening in theaters from Lionsgate in association with Millennium Media nationwide on September 20th, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD picks up almost four decades after the events of FIRST BLOOD, with Sylvester Stallone reprising his iconic role as Vietnam vet John Rambo. LAST BLOOD finds Rambo confronting his past and unearthing his ruthless combat skills to exact revenge in a final mission and, quite likely, the last chapter of the legendary series. The film also stars Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adrianna Barraza, Yvette Monreal, Genie Kim aka Yenah Han, Joaquin Cosio, and Oscar Jaenada.

Tickets to the RAMBO Marathon are available here and at drafthouse.com

RAMBO: LAST BLOOD is directed by Adrian Grunberg from a screenplay by Matthew Cirulnick and Sylvester Stallone. The story is by Dan Gordon and Sylvester Stallone based on characters created by David Morrell. The film is produced by Avi Lerner, Kevin King Templeton, Yariv Lerner, Les Weldon and Rob Van Norden.
