Magnolia has released a new trailer for the upcoming noir thriller A Kind of Murder starring Patrick Wilson as an architect who becomes obsessed with the identity of a killer who he believes may have perpetrated the perfect crime. Directed by Andy Goddard (Set Fire to the Stars), the film also stars Jessica Biel, Haley Bennet, Eddie Marsan, and Vincent Kartheiser. It’s based on a novel by Patricia Highsmith (The Talented Mr. Ripley).
I caught this one at this years Tribeca Film Festival and found it entertaining, but a bit middle of the road. A Kind of Murder will be available in theaters and on VOD platforms December 16th.
In 1960s New York, Walter Stackhouse is a successful architect married to the beautiful Clara who leads a seemingly perfect life. But his fascination with an unsolved murder leads him into a spiral of chaos as he is forced to play cat-and-mouse with a clever killer and an overambitious detective, while at the same time lusting after another woman.
