The new international trailer for A Cure for Wellness isn’t very long, but it flashes plenty of weirdness. Free of context, the imagery includes Mia Goth in a bathtub filled with snakes and Dane DeHaan in a contraption straight out of A Clockwork Orange.
At the very least, it looks like a very interesting return to horror for director Gore Verbinski. Also starring Jason Isaacs, A Cure for Wellness opens in theaters on February 17th, 2017.
An ambitious young executive is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious “wellness center” at a remote location in the Swiss Alps. He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem. When he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests here longing for the cure.
