Dan Trachtenberg to Direct ‘Y: The Last Man’

It was announced yesterday that podcaster turned director Dan Trachtenberg has been hired by New Line to helm the adaptation of the popular comic book series Y: The Last Man. Though this will be Trachtenberg’s first feature film, he previously directed the wildly popular Portal: No Escape short film, and I personally think he’s a bold and righteous choice for this property. Hit the jump for more info.

Having just ended a five year run on The Totally Rad Show, it’s been known for a while that he was heading into film, but I don’t think anyone could have guessed it would be something as big as this.

Y: The Last Man has been floating around Hollywood for some time with many script re-writes and changing of hands, and considering it’s ont of my all-time favorite comic series, I’m hopeful that this is the right director for the job. Below you can check out his original short film Portal: No Escape.
