De Palma’s ‘Passion’ and Malick’s ‘To the Wonder’ Picked up for Distribution

Two big directors had their latest projects picked up today, the first being Brian De Palma‘s Passion, starring Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace.  The film is a remake of the 2010 French film Love Crime, and plays out like a psychological thriller. Entertainment One picked up the film for North American distribution, with a theatrical date set for an early 2013 release.

Then we have To the Wonder, the latest offering from Terrence Malick, starring Ben Affleck and, again, Rachel McAdams. This film seems to be a love story of sorts, though done in the same vein as The Tree of Life. Magnolia picked this one up, which could mean we’ll see this pop up on VOD as most, if not all, their films had day and date releases in theaters and VOD. Magnolia has not set a release date as of this post.

Unfortunately, neither of these films have been making big waves one the festival circuit, but I’ll still be anxious to check them both out. What do you think?
