Now, after several years of production and a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Calvin and Hobbes documentary, titled Dear Mr. Watterson, has been picked up for distribution by Gravitas Ventures. The film is directed by Joel Schroeder and will feature plenty of interviews from cartoonists and fans alike who drew inspiration and influence from Watterson’s work. Hit the break to read more and check out the trailer.
The one downside with this film, is that Watterson himself will most likely not be in it, as he doesn’t do any press or interviews. This is extremely unfortunate, as it seems like without speaking with the creator, it may not feel like a complete product. Still, with a $120,000 Kickstarter campaign, it looks like there’s still a big fanbase that wants to see this movie.
Dear Mr. Watterson is set to hit theaters and VOD November 15th, check below for the trailer.
