Elizabeth Olsen Up For Spike Lee’s ‘Oldboy’

Spike Lee’s remake of Chan Wook Park’s phenomenal film Oldboy has been floating around for a while now, with rumors coming and going.  Rooney Mara, Mia Wasikowska, Clive Owen, and Colin Firth have all been previously flirting with idea of taking this project on, but ultimately passed.

Now, it seems that in addition to Josh Brolin playing the lead, Elizabeth Olsen has been offered the female lead for the gig. Personally, I think this is a very wise choice, and makes me more excited than ever to see this film get made.

When the prospect for this remake was first announced, I was avidly against it, however now it appears that this is shaping up to be something substantial. We will still have to see how the script turns out, and how much they change the plot from the original.
