Fede Alvarez Confirms Sam Raimi as Director of ARMY OF DARKNESS 2

In an off-hand via twitter, Fede Alvarez, director of the Evil Dead remake, stated that Sam Raimi would be returning to the series to direct Army of Darkness 2.  While this information has not been officially confirmed, it seems that Alvarez is as reliable as any source, given his close ties to the series.  Just a few weeks ago, star Bruce Campbell stated that the film would be happening, however he didn’t seem too sure about it.

Raimi is currently working as a producer on the upcoming Poltergeist remake.  While some may be concerned about the age of Bruce Campbell returning as Ash, it could lead to some potentially hilarious results.  I for one, cannot wait to hear more developments.
