FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S Movie Finds a Director

The latest video game to movie adaptation will be an adaptation of cult indie hit Five Nights at Freddy’s, an indie horror game created by Scott Cawthon, which has since had three sequels. The game revolves around you, the player, being hired as a security guard at a Chuck E Cheese type establishment, where the animatronic animals like to come alive at night and try to kill you.

Deadline reports that Gil Kenan (Poltergeist) will be directing and co-writing the film for Warner Bros., with Tyler Burton Smith also co-writing.

Those familiar with the storyline of the games will certainly know that this could make for a decent, very dark horror tale if done correctly (and not PG-13).
