‘Freaky Deaky’ Trailer Starring Christian Slater and Crispin Glover

If you put Crispin Glover in a movie I’ll see it, plain and simple.  I may not like the movie itself, but just watching Crispin Glover be Crispin Glover is enough to grab my attention for an hour and a half.  With that being said, here’s the new trailer for Freaky Deaky, a new dark comedy set in the 70s starring Christian Slater, Crispin Glover, Sabina Gadecki, Billy Burke, Michael Jai White, Breanne Racano, and Roger Bart.

Though the film is straight to DVD and looks like a typical post-Tarantino era crime comedy, the trailer makes it looks like it could be promising and in addition to seeing Glover, I’m always down for Michael Jai White in a 70s setting, hopefully in a similar role to Black Dynamite. Look for Freaky Deaky on DVD and Blu Ray next Tuesday (February 26th) and check the trailer and synopsis after the jump.

Chris Mankowski (Billy Burke) used to be on the Detroit Police bomb squad, but it’s not until he’s transferred to sex crimes that he gets a real taste of juggling dynamite. After falling for the lovely Greta Wyatt (Sabina Gadecki), he gets suspended for investigating the rich, powerful and drunk Woody Ricks (Crispin Glover). Taking matters into his own hands, Mankowski quickly realizes it won’t be easy to get justice for Greta. From former Black Panther Donnell Lewis (Michael Jai White) to sexy ex-fugitive Robin Abbott (Breanne Racano) and her erstwhile bombing partner Skip Gibbs (Christian Slater), everyone wants something from Ricks. With all these unscrupulous deviants in the mix, one thing’s for certain… it’s gonna get freaky!
Populated by some of Elmore Leonard’s most memorable characters and filled with the author’s trademark menace, fantastic dialogue and deadpan humor, FREAKY DEAKY, directed by Charles Matthau (The Grass Harp), had its world premiere at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival.
