With Montreal’s Fantasia Fest ready to launch July 23rd, the Frontières co-production market returns with new in development projects from a number of talented filmmakers including John McNaughton, RKSS, the team behind Turbo Kid, and A Serbian Film director Srdjan Spasojevic.
Frontières is the first and only co-production market to connect North America with Europe focusing on genre film production and financing. MONTREAL, Thursday May 14, 2015 – After a highly successful second European edition at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival in April, Frontières returns to the Fantasia International Film Festival for its sixth edition, which will take place July 23-26 in Montreal.Frontières is the first and only co-production market to connect North America with Europe in an environment specifically focused on genre film production and financing. Frontières marks its return to Fantasia with an expanded Frontières line-up that will allow more projects to participate in live pitch sessions. The complete project line-up will be announced at the end of May.Frontières is thrilled to announce a first wave of projects selected to participate in its 4th North American edition. The line-up includes projects in development from director John McNaughton (HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER, WILD THINGS), producers Michael Roiff (WAITRESS, IN YOUR EYES) and Ritesh Batra (THE LUNCHBOX), director Srdjan Spasojevic (A SERBIAN FILM), producer Rob Cotterill (HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN), and producer Colin Geddes (MANBORG).Frontières is also pleased to include in its line-up the winner of the Imagine Film Festival Pitch Contest, KILL MODE, awarded to the top Dutch genre project.
