Dr. House himself, Hugh Laurie is in talks to play the villain in Jose Padilha‘s upcoming Robocop reboot. This news comes just days after the announcement of Abbie Cornish joining the cast, and with Joel Kinnaman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Gary Oldman already on board, it seems that this movie is shaping up quite nicely. It is worth noting that this isn’t a done deal, as The Hollywood Reporter states that he’s simply someone they want for the role.
Laurie will play the tyrannical CEO of Omnicorp, the company that funds the creation of Robocop. This is a role that will probably suit him, and as long as the writers flesh out the character, he could potentially add a lot of depth to the film.
