IDW’s ‘The Suicide Forest’ to Become Feature Film

One of the most interesting and haunting comic books I read last year was The Suicide Forest by El Torres and Gabriel Hernandez, and now the four-issue series has been optioned for a film adaptation.

The movie will be directed by Hideo Nakata, who directed Ringu, and produced by Roy Lee and Taka Ichise. Deadline reports that there is currently no screenwriter, so it will probably be a while before we hear anything else about the project.

If you are unfamiliar with the infamous “Suicide forest,” hit the jump for a 20-minute documentary about the world’s most popular place to kill yourself.
