IFC Acquires Matthew Brown’s THE MAN WHO KNEW INFINITY

IFC has picked up the North American rights to Matthew Brown‘s upcoming drama The Man Who Knew Infinity, starring Dev Patel, Jeremy Irons, Devika Bhise, Stephen Fry and Toby Jones.

The film, based on the biography by Robert Kanigel, tells the story of the self-taught Indian mathematician, Ramanujan (Patel), who travels to Trinity College and forges a friendship with his mentor, GH Hardy (Irons).

The Man Who Knew Infinity had its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, IFC has not announced a release date as of yet.

The Man Who Knew Infinity’ is the true story of a friendship that forever changed mathematics. In 1913, Ramanujan, a self-taught Indian mathematician travels to Trinity College, Cambridge, where he forges a bond with his mentor, the eccentric professor GH Hardy, and fights against prejudice to reveal his mathematic genius to the world.
