‘Iron Man 3’ Production Delayed as Downey Jr. Sustains Injury

In an official announcement from Disney, it appears that the star of Iron Man 3, Robert Downey Jr., sustained an ankle injury today, while performing a stunt on set. At this point it’s not clear how bad the injury is, although production has halted on the film for the time being. Here’s what Disney, who owns Marvel Studios, said in their statement:

Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates.

Short and to the point.  Let’s hope Iron Man 3 turns out to be the same.
