J.J. Abrams To Direct ‘Star Wars Episode VII’

All the speculation and rumor can finally be put to bed, as earlier today The Wrap reported that J.J. Abrams will be directing Star Wars Episode VII. Abrams was one of the first directors courted for the coveted, yet decidedly stressful, position and it looks like he finally gave in and agreed to give it a go.

What’s interesting is that Abrams now controls two of the big nerd franchises ever, Star Trek and Star Wars. Some are concerned about degradation of quality on each film since he now has to work on both series, however in my opinion, you can’t go anywhere but up in the case of Star Wars.
