James Franco Struggles with Faith and Sexuality in the I AM MICHAEL Trailer

I Am Michael premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2015 and is finally getting a release thanks to Brainstorm Media. The first trailer introduces the true story of Michael Glatze (James Franco), a gay-rights activist who renounced his homosexuality after turning to Christianity.

Directed by Justin Kelly and produced by Gus Van Sant, I Am Michael also stars Emma Roberts, Zachary Quinto, and Charlie Carver. It will be released in theaters and on VOD January 27th, 2017.

A gay-rights advocate (James Franco) shocks his boyfriend (Zachary Quinto), friends and family when he publicly renounces his homosexuality and marries a woman (Emma Roberts) in this controversial true story.
