John Cena Voices a Lovable Bull in the First Trailer for FERDINAND

20th Century Fox has released the first official trailer for Ferdinand, an animated film from their Blue Sky Studios. John Cena voices the titular bull, which is based on the character created by Munro Leaf in the children’s book The Story of Ferdinand. The trailer really pushes the “bull in a china shop” joke before settling in to the “misunderstood beast with a big heart” tropes.

Directed by Carlos Saldanha, Ferdinand also features the voices of Kate McKinnon, Gina Rodriguez, Daveed Diggs, Gabriel Iglesias, Bobby Cannavale, David Tennant, and Anthony Anderson. It will be in theaters on December 15th.

FERDINAND tells the story of a giant bull with a big heart. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. Set in Spain, Ferdinand proves you can’t judge a bull by its cover.
