John Dower and Louis Theroux Documentary MY SCIENTOLOGY MOVIE Gets A Trailer

As a fan of Louis Theroux’s previous documentaries and having a strange fascination with Scientology, I’m very eagerly awaiting the release of Theroux and director John Dower’s latest, My Scientology Movie, heading to theaters this January.

Magnolia has released a new trailer for the film, which re-enacts stories told by ex-members of the church, in an attempt to understand just what this strange religion is all about.

Inspired by the Church’s use of filming techniques, and aided by ex-members of the organization Theroux uses actors to replay some incidents people claim they experienced as members in an attempt to better understand the way it operates. In a bizarre twist, it becomes clear that the Church is also making a film about Louis Theroux. Suffused with a good dose of humor and moments worthy of a Hollywood script, MY SCIENTOLOGY MOVIE is stranger than fiction.
