LAIKA Teams Up With Focus Features for Three More Films

As a huge fan of the stop-motion animation studio LAIKA, it pleases me to hear that Focus Features has just signed a deal with the company to distribute their next three projects. Although Coraline, Paranorman, and The Boxtrolls have all been critical successes, LAIKA’s films take a long time to create and never make as much money as the CG films of Dreamworks or Pixar.

Focus Features will be handling the U.S. distribution, with Universal will be taking care of the International side.

Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on what these three films will be, however given LAIKA’s track record, it will be something truly unique and wonderful.
