A LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Remake is Coming

Little Shop of Horrors has had many iterations, from the 1960 Roger Corman film, to Alan Menken and Howard Ashman’s stage musical, and the 1986 Frank Oz horror/comedy/musical. The string of adaptations is set to continue, as Warner Bros. announced a new movie to be directed by Greg Berlanti (producer of several DC Comic TV shows).

Not many details are known, though the revamp will be a musical update of the 1986 film. Oz’s version has always been a personal favorite and I, for one, am not screaming “Feed me!” at the prospect a new take. But, we’ll see if Berlanti and writer Matthew Robinson (The Invention of Lying) can add a fresh spin on the story of geeky florist Seymour and his giant carnivorous plant, Audrey II.
