Magnet Picks Up Horror Anthology Film XX

Magnet Releasing has picked up the worldwide rights to the upcoming horror anthology film XX, which features a series of shorts all directed by female filmmakers. Among them is Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body), Mary Harron (American Psycho), Jennifer Lynch (Surveillance) and Jovana Vuckovic (The Captured Bird).

All the directors will be given complete creative control over what they make, as long as it fits the horror genre and falls within the time and budget constraints.

This is a really exciting idea and considering horror films (and just films in general) are usually a boys club, I’ll be anxious to see how this one turns out. Hopefully some more directors will get involved as well, I’d love to see Jen and Sylvia Soska or Leigh Janiak get involved.

XX doesn’t currently have a release date.
