Marvel Releases Official BLACK PANTHER Synopsis and Cast List

Production has started on Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther, and Marvel has unveiled an official synopsis and cast list. The cast we had already heard about was encouraging to say the least. Chadwick Boseman returns to the MCU as T’Challa/Black Panther, and he’s joined by Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Angela Basset, and Sterling K. Brown. We now know that Martin Freeman (reprising his Civil War role), Daniel Kaluuya, and Andy Serkis also star.

This combination of cast and filmmaker makes Black Panther my most anticipated Marvel movie in a long time, possibly ever. The film hits theaters on February 16th, 2018.

Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the events of Captain America: Civil War, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.
